Fuel Economy
On today's roads, the goal isn't just to get from Point A to Point B. The goal is to get there without having to make a number of stops for gas. While fuel economy may not be the first thing you look at when shopping for a luxury SUV, it is a very important factor to consider. In this category, the 2019 Range Rover Sport wins out with a combined fuel economy of 24 mpg - 22 city and 28 highway, among the better fuel economies available for SUVs of its type. In comparison, the 2019 Audi Q8 has a combined fuel economy of 19 mpg - 17 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.
Engine and Performance
Strong performance is important to have in any vehicle, including an SUV in the style of the Range Rover Sport and Audi Q8. In this case, while both the Range Rover Sport and Q8 both have a 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine, it's the Range Rover Sport that pulls ahead with a max torque of 443 lb.-ft. That's compared to the Q8's 369 lb.-ft. And while the Q8 has 335 hp at 5,000-6,400 rpm, the Range Rover Sport has an optional trim that gets 355 hp at 5,500-6,500 rpm.
Safety and Convenience
As vehicles evolve, so do the safety and convenience features they include. For example, you'd expect anti-lock brakes, plenty of airbags and other features designed to keep you safe on the road and to provide the most comfortable ride available. Over the years, technology has made it possible to include things like automatic emergency braking and dual touchscreens to allow you to get information on every aspect of your vehicle. While both vehicles include this, the 2019 Range Rover Sport includes a superior Touch Pro Duo system that includes both a 10" high definition dual touchscreen and a 12" high definition driver display system. It also features an automatically dimming rear-view mirror, 14-way power seats, and several other features that don't come standard on the 2019 Audi Q8.
